Camp Activities

The University of Colorado Administration and its Campuses are exposed to loss resulting from camp activities that are conducted by any number of campus community or contract groups.

The general term “Camps” used in this document is defined as:

A University-sponsored on or off-campus activity where registered participants are provided structured activities with the goal of academic or athletic improvement through learning under the direction of the University, but which are not part of the University's main academic and athletic programs. Camp duration may be one day to several weeks and may include overnight stay.

 Excluded activities

  1. Field trips as part of CU course work
  2. Field trips to campus
  3. Conferences and Seminars
  4. Third party Camps not sponsored by CU

The following links provide the Camp Activities Standard and Risk Assessment which outline the Campus’ role in helping provide a positive experience for participants, employees, and visitors involved in camp programs.
