WORKERS’ COMPENSATION CLAIMS AND BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS

Employees of DenverIf you are injured on the job, you should notify your supervisor and go to one of the authorized medical providers listed below that is most convenient to your work.    

Needle sticks and bodily fluid exposures can initially be seen in the E.R. of the hospital where the exposure occurred, or the Infectious Disease Clinic at University Hospital between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. The University Hospital ER-Urgent Care is available after 4:00 PM. All needle-stick and exposure patients need to follow-up at one of the authorized medical providers listed below within 48 hours of the initial visit.

**IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, GO TO THE NEAREST EMERGENCY ROOM**

In the event of an on the job injury/exposure that does not require immediate attention – please call the clinic of your choice and schedule an appointment to be seen. They usually schedule you the same day.

If the injury requires immediate attention (but not life threatening), you may go to the clinic of your choice on a “walk-in” basis, no appointment required.
